Treasure Island is a city in Pinellas County, Florida, in the United States. As of the 2000 census, the city population was 7,450. According to the U.S. Census Bureau's 2004 estimates, the city had a population of 7,521.

After the chest was put on display at a local bank, people by the hundreds found their way to the beach. The town is actually a peaceful island that is 3.5 miles long, with a slow, gentle lifestyle. Driving through the city is like going back in time to the 50s, where you will see several preserved 50s style mid-century Modern structures including motels and vintage signs. Three Art Modern causeway bridges have become eligible for the National Register of Historic Places, reminding visitors of old retro "roadside" Florida. Not many places like it are left in the state today. Though quiet and relaxing, Treasure Island also has beach activities, fine dining and lots of shopping. Treasure Island Weather & ClimateTemperate and mild, the central West Coast of Florida in the Clearwater/St. Petersburg/Tampa Bay area enjoys a semi tropical climate with warm Gulf breezes and plenty of sunshine. Frequent thunderstorms, short in duration, dominate the summertime weather patterns, where humidity usually hovers near the 100 percent mark. Even with these frequent summer storms, however, this area of the state enjoys the most days of sunshine per year - with an average of 361. June through September are the wettest months, with the rest of the year being pretty dry by comparison. AttractionsBeach Nutts Bar & Grill : One of the best spots on the beach, this bar sits directly on the sand of the Gulf of Mexico and the beach bar and restaurant's open-air atmosphere suits its location to a tee. Seating is available on the second floor at the bar or at an outside table under an umbrella. Shorts and bathing suits are the dress code of the day. Treasure Island Beach Access : Pinellas County purchased a .5-acre plot of beachfront property on Treasure Island in 1985 for $1.75 million.
